The AM186ED-20VC/W microcontroller is a part of the AMD E186 family of embedded microcontrollers and microprocessor based on the x86 architecture. It has been designed to meet the most common requirements of embedded products developed for the communications,office automation, mass storage, and general embedded markets. Specific applications include PBXs, multiplexers, modems, disk drives, hand-held and desktop terminals, fax machines, printers,photocopiers, and industrial controls.
Features of the AM186ED-20VC/W are:(1) integrated DRAM controller;(2) enhanced refresh control unit;(3) option to overlap DRAM with peripheral chip select(PCS);(4) additional serial port mode for DMA support of 9-bit protocols;(5) option to boot from 8- or 16-bit memory;(6) improved external bus master support;(7) PSRAM controller removed.
The absolute maximum ratings of the AM186ED-20VC/W can be summarized as:(1): input low voltage (except X1)(VIL) is 0.5 V min and 0.2VCC 0.3 V max;(2): clock input low voltage (X1)(VIL1) is 0.5 V min and 0.8 V max;(3): input high voltage (except RES and X1)(VIH) is 2.0 V min and VCC +0.5 V max;(4): input high voltage (RES)(VIH 1) is 2.4 V min and VCC +0.5 V max;(5): clock input high voltage (X1)(VIH 2) is VCC 0.8 V min and VCC +0.5 V max.
