The HER502 is designed as 5.0A ultrafast diode.
It has five features. The first one is that it would have diffused junction. The second one is that it would have low forward voltage drop. The next one is that it would have high current capability. The next one is that it would have high reliability. The next one is that it would have high surge current capability. That are all the main features.
Some maximum ratings and electrical characteristics @ Ta=25°C unless otherwise specified have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its peak repetitive reverse voltage which would be 100V. The next one is about its RMS reverse voltage which would be 70V. The next one is about its average rectified output current @Ta = 55°C which would be 5.0A. The next one is about its non-repetitive peak forward surge current 8.3ms Single half sine-wave superimposed on rated load (JEDEC Method) which would be 150A. The next one is about its forward voltage @If = 5.0A which would be 1.0V. The next one is about its peak reverse current @Ta = 25°C which would be 10A and would be 100A at rated DC blocking voltage @Ta = 100°C. The next one is about its reverse recovery time which would be 50ns. The next one is about its typical junction capacitance which would be 75pF. The next one is about its operating temperature range which would be -65°C to +125°C. The next one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -65°C to +150°C.
It should be noted that leads maintained at ambient temperature at a distance of 9.5mm from the case for average rectified output current. And measured with IF = 0.5A, IR = 1.0A, IRR = 0.25A for reverse recovery time. Measured at 1.0 MHz and applied reverse voltage of 4.0V D.C for typical junction capacitance. And so on.
