L5A4266 General Description
The L5A4266 chipbridge is designed as a highly integrated ASIC that combines LAN and WAN subsystems to achieve a full ethernet remote bridge on a single chip. It automatically learns the MAC addresses on the LAN it is connected to, and forwards only the frames destined for another LAN. It is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3 standard.
It has many features. (1) High performance, single chip, full remote ethernet bridge, fully IEEE 802.3 compatible. (2) On chip AUI (DTE ot DCE) or UTP LAN interfaces. (3) NRZ decoded signals for easy interface to other ethernet chips. (4) 10Mbps in half-duplex mode or 20Mbps in full-duplex mode. (5) Automatic TP polarity reversal. (6) Multiple LAN operating modes. (7) Glueless connection to most LAN chips. (8) Up to 40Mbps Sync WAN link. (9) Up to 115.2kbps async WAN link with internal baud rate generator. (10) 10,000-address LAN table. (11) Buffer capacity of 256 frames. (12) Filtering rate of 15,000pps. (13) Fowvarding rate of 15,000pps. (14) Automatic LAN table learning and aging. (15) Compression type: enhanced tinygram. (16) Full on-chip support for 7 status LEDs. (17) Low power 0.6 micron CMOS technology. (18) 100-pin PQFP package. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +150°C. (2) Its ambient temperature under bias would be from -40°C to +85°C. (3) Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to +6.0V. (4) Its input voltage would be from -0.5V to Vdd+0.5V. (5) Its operating temperature should be fron -40°C to +85°C.
Also some DC characteristics (over operating range) about it. (1) Its voltage input low (CMOS level) would be min Vss and max 0.3Vdd. (2) Its voltage input high (CMOS level) would be min 0.7Vdd and max Vdd. (3) Its switching threshold (CMOS level) would be typ 2.5V. And so on.
