The MPX4100A is designed as manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor for engine control is designed to sense absolute air pressure within the intake manifold. This measurement can be used to compute the amount of fuel required for each cylinder. The small form factor and high reliability of onchip integration makes the Motorola MAP sensor a logical and economical choice for automotive system designers. Typical applications include manifold sensing for automotive systems, ideally suited for microprocessor or microcontrollerbased systems and also ideal for nonautomotive applications.
It has four features. The first one is 1.8% maximum error over 0°C to 85°C. The second one is specifically designed for intake manifold absolute pressure sensing in engine control systems. The thitd one is temperature compensated over 40°C to +125°C. The fourth one is durable epoxy unibody element or thermoplastic (PPS) surface mount package. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its maximum pressure (P1 > P2) which would be 400kPa. The second one is about its storage temperature range which would be from 40°C to +125°C. The third one is about its operating temperature range which would be from 40°C to +125°C. It should be noted that exposure beyond the specified limits may cause permanent damage or degradation to the device.
