PC357NT is a type of general purpose photocoupler which has four unique features: The first one is current transfer ratio.The second one is opaque type,mini-flat package. The third one is isolation voltage between input and output. The forth one is subminiautre type(the volume is smaller than that of our conventional DIP type by as far as 30%). It has two applications: The first one is hybrid substate which requires high density mounting.The second one is programmable controllers.
There are someabsolute maximum ratings about it. Input: forwad current(IF) is 50 mA.Power dissipation(P) is 70 mW.Peak forward current(IFM) is 1 A.Reverse voltage(VR) is 6 V.Output: Collector-emitter voltage(Vceo) is 35 V.Emitter-collector voltage(Veco) is 6 V.Collector current(Ic) is 50 mA.Collector Power dissipation(Pc) is 150 mW. Total power dissipation(Ptot) is 170 MW. Isolation voltage(Viso) is 3750 Vrms. Operating temperature(Topr) is -30 to +100.Storage temperature(Tstg) is -40 to +125. Soldering temperature(Tsol) is 260.Electro-optical characteristics: Input: Forward votlage(VF) is 1.2 V typ and 1.4 V max when IF is 20 mA. Terminal capcitance(Ct) is 30 pF typ and 250 PF max when V is 0 and f is 1 kHz.Output:Collector-emitter breakdown(BVceo) is 35 V min when Ic is 0.1 mA and If is 0. Emitter-collector breakdown voltage(BVeco) is 6 V min when Ie is 10 uA and IF is 0.Transfer charactersitics:Current transfer ratio(CTR) is 50% min and 600% max when IF is 5 mA and VCE is 5 V.Collector-emitter saturation voltage(VCE(sat)) is 0.2 V typ when IF is 20 mA and Ic is 1 mA. Floating capacitance is 0.6 pFtyp and 1.0 pF max when V is 0 and f is 1 kHz.
