RF9907 General Description

The RF9907 is a kind of complete AGC amplifier designed for the receive section of dual-mode CDMA/FM cellular applications. It is intended to amplify IF signals while providing over 90 dB of gain control range. Noise figure, IP3, and other specifications are designed to be compatible with the IS-95 interim standard for CDMA cellular communications. This circuit is designed as part of the RFMD CDMA chip set including a transmit IF AGC amp, a transmit upconverter, a receive LNA/Mixer, and this receive IF AGC amp. It is available in a standard miniature 16-lead plastic SSOP package.

There are some features as follows: (1)supports dual mode operation; (2)-45 dB to +45 dB gain control range; (3)single 3.6 V power supply; (4)digitally selectable inputs; (5)>-5 dBm input IP3; (6)12 MHz to 285 MHz operation. The typical applications include: (1)CDMA/FM cellular systems; (2)supports dual-mode AMPS/CDMA; (3)supports dual-mode TACS/CDMA; (4)general purpose linear IF amplifier; (5)commercial and consumer systems; (6)portable battery powered equipment.

The following is about the absolute maximum ratings: (1)supply voltage: -0.5 to 7.0 V; (2)RX/TX enable voltage: -0.5 to 5.0 V; (3)input RF power: +10 dBm; (4)operating ambient temperature: -40 to +85; (5)storage temperature: -40 to +150. Then is about the specifications about the power supply: (1)voltage: 3.6±5% V typ; (2)current consumption: 13 mA typ 17 mA max when minimum gain; (3)current consumption: 14 mA typ 17 mA max when maximum gain.
