ULN3859A General Description

The ULN3859A is designed as low-power, narrow-band FM IF system which provides the second converter, second IF, demodulator, and squelch circuitry for communications and scanning receivers. Its douple-balanced mixer permits low-noise operation while eliminating spurious responses, effectively rejecting tweet and IF feedthrough, and reducing local oscillator radiation.

It has five features. The first one is it would have dual conversion. The second one is low current drain. The third one is wide operating voltage range. The fourth one is it would have high sensitivity. The fifth one is replaces MC3359P. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is supply voltage which would be 12V. The second one is about its mixer input voltage which would be 1.0V. The third one is about its mute terminal voltage range which would be from -0.5V to +12V. The fourth one is about its operating temperature range which would be from -30°C to +70°C. The fifth one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -65°C to +150°C.

And some electrical characteristics about it. The first one is about its operating voltage range which would be min 4.0V and typ 8.0V and max 9.0V. The second one is about its quiescent supply current which would be typ 3.0mA and max 6.0mA for mute OFF and would be typ 4.0mA and max 7.0mA for mute ON. The third one is about its input limiting threshold which would be typ 2.0uV and max 6.0uV. The fourth one is about its mixer conversion gain which would be typ 24dB. The fifth one is about its maxer input resistance which would be typ 3.6k. The sixth one is about its mixer input capacitance which would be typ 2.2pF. And so on.
