The BU2302 is a kind of CR timer. It is an ideal timer IC for applications in which the output of a device such as a battery charger is turned on for a given period of time. There are some features as follows. First is low power consumption because of CMOS process. The second is wide operating voltage range of 1.8 to 6.0 V. Besides, output is Nch open drain. At last, oscillation frequency (time) can be set freely, using external CR.
What comes next is about the absolute maximum ratings. The VDD (output voltage) is from -0.3 to 7.5 V. The VOUT (output voltage) is from -0.3 to 7.5 V. The Pd (power dissipation) is 500 mW for DIP8-T8 package and 350 mW for SOP8 package. The TSTG (storage temperature range) is from -50 to +150. The TOP (operating temperature range) is from -20 to +75.
The following is about the electrical characteristics (Ta=25, VCC=3.0 V unless otherwise noted). The minimum VDD (operating power supply voltage) is 1.8 V, the typical is 3.0 V and the maximum is 6.0 V. The maximum IQD (quiescent current consumption) is 0.5A when OSC is stopped. The maximum IDD (operating current consumption) is 0.2 mA. The minimum IOL (low output current (pin 7)) is 5.0 mA at VOL=3.0 V and 3.2 mA at VOL=0.4 V. The maximum IL (output leakage current) is ±0.1 A at VO=0 to 3.0 V. The minimum IOL (low output current (pins 2,3)) is 0.3 mA at VOL=0.4 V. The minimum IOH (low output current (pins 2,3)) is -0.1 mA at VOH=2.6 V.
