LS188 General Description

The LS188 is a kind of monolithic microphone amplifier designed to be used with several kinds of transducers. It can replace the carbon microphone in telephones and may also be used in cassette recorder, walky talkies, or infared receriver applications. The circuit is assembled in a 8-pin dual in line package. The device includes a differential input amplifier.

The following is about the features: (1)very few external components; (2)built in partial bridge; (3)high immunity against EMI; (4)accurate gain control; (5)no capacitor required; (6)wide operating voltage and current range; (7)programmable dc characteristics.

The following is about the absolute maximumr ratings: (1)VM, microphone voltage (3ms duration): 20 V; (2)IM, microphone current: 150 mA; (3)Ptot, power dissipation: 600 mW; (4)Top, operating temperature: -30 to 70; (5)Rth j-amb: thermal resistance junction-ambient: 100/W.
