MBI5028CF General Description

The MBI5028CF is one member of the MBI5028 family which is designed as the 16-bit constant current LED sink driver with gain control that contains a 16-bit Shift Register and a 16-bit Output Latch, which convert serial input data into parallel output format. Also, in the normal mode phase, MBI5029 has exactly the same functionality with MBI5026.

Features of the MBI5028CF are:(1)optional for "Pb-free & green" package;(2)5V supply voltage;(3)schmitt trigger input;(4)25MHz clock frequency;(5)fast response of output current,OE (min.): 200 ns;(6)output current adjusted through an external resistor;(7)constant output current range: 5 -90 mA;(8)constant output current invariant to load voltage change;(9)16 constant-current output channels;(10)compatible with MBI5026 in electrical characteristics and package;(11)exploiting share-I-O™ technique to provide two operation modes:normal mode with the same functionality as MBI5026 and special mode to detect individual LED errors, like MBI5027 and program output current gain, like MBI5028.

The absolute maximum ratings of the MBI5028CF can be summarized as:(1)supply voltage:0 to 7 V;(2)input pin voltage (SDI):-0.4 to VDD+0.4 V;(3)output current:+90 mA;(4)output voltage:-0.5 to +20 V;(5)clock frequency:+25 MHz;(6)GND terminal current:1440 mA;(7)operating temperature:-40 to +85 °C;(8)storage temperature:-55 to +150 °C.
