The SPX29302AT5 is a kind of high accurate voltage regulator. It is packaged in 5-pin TO-263. The device is specifically designed for low voltage applications that require a low dropout voltage and a fast transient response. The typical applications include powering VGA & sound card, powerPC™ supplies, SMPS post regulator, high efficiency "Green" computer systems, high efficiency linear power supplies, constant current regulators, adjustable power supplies and battery charger.
There are some features. (1) adjustable output down to 1.25 V; (2) 1% output accuracy; (3) output current of 3 A; (4) low dropout voltage of 370 mV @ 3 A; (5) extremely fast transient response; (6) reverse-battery protection; (7) zero current shutdown (5 pin version).
What comes next is about the absolute maximum ratings. (1): input voltage is 16 V; (2): operating junction temperature is from -40 to +125; (3): storage temperature is from -65 to +150; (4): lead temperature (soldering, 5 seconds) is 260.
The following is about the electrical characteristics at VIN=VOUT+1 V and IOUT=10 mA, CIN=6.8µF, COUT = 10 µF, Tj=25, unless otherwise specified. The Boldface applies over the junction temperature range. (1): the typical ground pin current at dropout is 1.7 mA at VIN=0.5 V less than specified VOUT, IOUT=10 mA; (2): the typical current limit is 4.0 A and the maximum is 5.0 A at VOUT=0; (3): the typical reference voltage temp. coeff is 20 ppm/; (4): adjust pin bias current temp. coeff is 0.1 nA/.
