The TCA1365B is a power operational amplifier in a plastic power package P-T66-7H. It is protected against short circuits and thermal overload. The typical applications include power comparators, power schmitt triggers, speed control of DC motors and power buffers. There are some features as follows. First is high power output current up to 4 A. The second is high supply voltage up to 42 V. Then is suitable up to gain of 1. Next is thermal overload protection. The fifth is internal power limiting. The sixth is external compensation. The seventh is inhibit input. The eighth is DC short-circuit protection to +VS and -VS. The last one is intergrated clamp diodes.
What comes next is about the absolute maximum ratings. The storage temperature is from -50 to +125. The junction temperature is 150. The minimum VS (supply voltage) is 0 V and the maximum is ±21 V. The minimum VID (differential input voltage) is -VS V and the maximum is +VS V. The minimum IS (supply current) is -3.5 A and the maximum is +4.0 A. The minimum IQ (output current) is -4 A and the maximum is +4 A. The minimum IQ (output current) is -2 A at VS±15 V, VQ<-VS and is -3 A at VS±10 V, VQ<-VS. The minimum IGND (ground current) is -4.0 A and the maximum is +3.5 A. The minimum I3,6 (current pin 3,6) is 0 mA and the maximum is 5 mA. The maximum PD (power dissipation) is 20 W at Ta=85.
The following is about the operating range. The minimum VS (supply voltage) is ±3 V and the maximum is ±20 V. The TC (case temperature) is from -25 to +85 when PD=13 W. The maximum IF (forward current of free-wheel diode) is 3 A at Tj max=125. The maximum Rth jA (thermal resistance, junctiont to ambient) is 65 K/W. The maximum Rth jC (thermal resistance, junctiont to case) is 3 K/W.
