The TLP166J is designed as a small outline coupler, suitable for surface mount assembly. It consists of a photo trias, optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode.
It has six features. (1)Peak off-state voltage would be min 600V. (2)Trigger LED current would be 10mA max. (3)On-state current would be 70mA max. (4)Isolation voltage would be 2500Vrms min. (5)UL recognized UL1577, file No.E67349. (6)Option (V4) type VDE approved VDE0884 satisfied and maximum operating insulation voltage is 565Vpk and highest permissible over voltage is 4000Vpk. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its forward current would be 50mA. (2)Its forward current derating would be -0.7mA/°C. (3)Its peak forward current would be 1A. (4)Its reverse voltage would be 5V. (5)Its junction temperature would be 125°C. (6)Its off state output thermal voltage would be 600V. (7)Its on state RMS current would be 70mA at Ta=25°C and would be 40mA at Ta=70°C. (8)Its on-state current derating would be -0.67mA/°C. (9)Its peak on-state current (100us pulse, 120pps) would be 2A. (10)Its peak nonrepetitive surge current would be 1.2A. (11)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. (12)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to 100°C. (13)Its lead soldering temperature range (10s) would be 260°C. (14)Its isolation voltage would be 2500Vrms.
Also some electrical characteristics are concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its forward voltage would be min 1.0V and typ 1.15V and max 1.3V. (2)Its reverse current would be max 10uA. (2)Its peak off-state current would be typ 30nA and max 1000nA. (3)Its peak on-state voltage would be typ 1.7V and max 2.8V. (4)Its holding current would be typ 0.6mA. (5)Its critical rate of rise of off-state voltage would be min 200V/us and typ 500V/us. And so on.
