The TOTX178 is a kind of fiber optic transmitting module for digital audio equipments. There are some features as follows: (1)conform to EIAJ standard CP-1201 (for digital audio interface including fiber optic inter-connections); (2)TTL interface; (3)LED is driven by differential circuit; (4)a self-tapping hole for easy attachment to the panel of audio equipments.
What comes next is about the maximum ratings (Ta=25): (1)storage temperature, Tstg: -40 to 70; (2)operating temperature, Topr: -20 to 70; (3)supply voltage, VCC: -0.5 to 7 V; (4)input voltage, VIN: -0.5 to VCC+0.5 V; (5)soldering temperature, Tsol: 260. Then is about the recommended operating conditions: (1)supply voltage, VCC: 4.75 V min, 5.0 V typ and 5.25 V max; (2)high level input voltage, VIH: 2.0 V min and VCC V max; (3)low level input voltage, VIL: 0 V min and 0.8 V max.
The following is about the electrical and optical characteristics (Ta=25, VCC=5 V): (1)data rate: DC to 6 Mb/s max at NRZ code; (2)fiber output power, Pf: -21 dBm min and -15 dBm max at APF 1 m; (3)peak emission wavelength, P: 660 nm typ; (4)pulse width distortion, tw: -25 ns min and 25 ns max when using TORX173 and TORX176, pulse with 165 ns, pulse cycle 330 ns, CL=10 pF; -30 ns min and 30 ns max when using TORX178A, pulse with 165 ns, pulse cycle 330 ns, CL=10 pF; (5)current consumption, ICC: 67 mA typ and 85 mA max when R=0; (6)high level input voltage, VIH: 2.0 V min; (7)low level output voltage, VIL: 0.8 V max; (8)high level input current, IIH: 20A max when VI=2.7 V; (9)low level input current, IIL: -0.4 mA max when VI=0.4 V; (8)transmission distance: 0.2 to 10 m when using APF and TORX173, TORX176 and 0.2 to 8 m when using APF, TORX178A.
