UDN2966W General Description
Rated for continuous operation to 4.8 A and 65 V per channel, UDN2966W is designed to drive impact printer solenoids. Each of the two independent driver pairs in the UDN2966W include input gain and level shifting, a voltage regulator for single-supply operation, pulse-width modulated (PWM) output-current control, a flyback diode, and on-chip thermal protection. There are some features as follows. First is 5 A peak output current. The second is 65 V output sustaining voltage. Then is internal flyback diodes. Next is internal current control. The last one is internal shutdown circuitry.
What comes next is about the maximum ratings at TJ+150. The VCC (supply voltage) is 65 V. The IOUT (peak output current) is ±5.0 A. The VIN (input voltage range) is from -0.3 to +7.0 V. The TA (operating temperature range) is from -20 to +85. The Ts (storage temperature range) is from -55 to 150.
The following is about the electrical characteristics at TA=+25, TJ+150, VCC=65 V, VSENSE=O V (unless otherwise noted). The minimum VCC (operating supply voltage range) is 20 V and the maximum is 65 V. Then is about the characteristics for output drivers. The minimum VCE(sus) (output sustaining voltage) is 65 V at IOUT=±4.8 A, L=3.5 mH. The maximum VF (clamp diode forward voltage) is 3.0 V at IF=4.8 A.
