YM7140 General Description

The YM7140 is a sound reproduction LSI using ADPCMI cell (Yamaha standard-cell for sound reproduction).This ADPCM Sound Generator series has built-in ROM and customers can implement arbitary sound data.There are some features as follows.First is sampling frequency which is 8 KHz.The second is ROM capacity which is 64 Kbit.Then is total sound generating duration which is 2 seconds.Next is start trigger which is 5.The fifth is built-in chattering canceller.The sixth is built-in 8 bit DA converter.The seventh is 4 KHz master clock.The eighth is +5 V power supply.The last one is 18 pin DIP.

What comes next is about the absolute maximum ratings.The VDD (power supply voltage) is from VSS-0.5 V to VSS+7.0 V.The Vi (input voltage) is from VSS-0.5 V to VDD+0.5 V.The Vo (output voltage) is from VSS-0.5 V to VDD+0.5 V.The Ii (input current) is from -20 to +20 mA.The Tstg (storage temperature) is from -50 to +125.Then is about the recommended operating conditions.The minimum VDD (power supply voltage) is 4.75 V,the typicall is 5.00 V and the maximum is 5.25 V.The minimum Top (operating temperature) is 0,the typical is 25 and the maximum is 70.

The following is about the DC characteristics.The minimum VIH (high level input voltage) is 3.5 V and the maximum VIL (low level input voltage) is 1.0 V for all inputs.The minimum input leakage current is -10 mA and the maximum is +10 mA.
