The UPD1663 is designed as a source driver for TFT-LCDs capable of dealing with displays with 64 gray scales. Data input is based on digital input configured as 6 bits by 6 dots (2 pixels), which can realize a full-color display of 260,000 colors by output of 64 values g -corrected by an internal D/A converter and 5-by-2 external power modules.
It has seven features. (1) Capable of outputting 64 values by means of 5-by-2 external power modules (10 units) and a D/A converter. (2) Output dynamic range 9.8Vp-p min. (at Vdd2 = 10.0V). (3) CMOS level input. (4) Input of 6 bits (gradation data) by 6 dots. (5) High-speed data transfer: fmax. = 45 MHz (internal data transfer speed when operating at 3.0 V). (6) 312 outputs. (7) Single bank arrangement is possible (loaded with slim TCP). That are all the main features.
Some absolute absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its logic part supply voltage would be from -0.5 to +6.5V. (2) Its driver part supply voltage would be from -0.5 to +12.0V. (3) Its logic part input voltage would be from -0.5 to Vdd1+0.5V. (4) Its driver part input voltage would be from -0.5 to Vdd2+0.5V. (5) Its logic part output voltage would be from -0.5 to Vdd1+0.5V. (6) Its driver part output voltage would be from -0.5 to Vdd2+0.5V. (7) Its total power dissipation would be 500mW. (8) Its operating temperature range would be from -10 to +75°C. (9) Its storage temperature range would be from -55 to +125°C.
Also some electrical characteristics about it. (1) input leak current would be max +/-1.0uA. (2) Its high-level output voltage would be min Vdd1-0.1V. (3) Its low level output voltage would be max 0.1V. (4) Its -corrected supply current would be typ 0.6mA and max 1.0mA. (5) Its driver output current would be max -0.3mA at Vx=9V and Vout=3V and it would be min 0.3mA for Vx=3V and Vout=9V. And so on.
