VS1053bisasingle-chipOggVorbis/MP3/AAC/-WMA/MIDIaudiodecoderandanIMAADPCManduser-load able Ogg Vorbi sencoder. It containsa high-per formance, proprietarylow-powerDSP DSP4 ,workingdatamemory,processor core VS 16K iBin struction RAM and 0.5+KiB data RAM for user applications running simultaneo usly with anybuilt-indecoder, serialcontrolandinputdata interfaces,upto8generalpurposeI/Opins,anUART,aswellasahigh-qualityvariable-sample-ratestereoADC(mic,line,line+micor2-line)andstereo DAC, followed by an earphone amplifier and acommon voltage buffer.
VS1053breceivesitsinputbitstreamthrougha erialinputbus, which it listen stoasa system slave.The input stream isdecoded andpassed throughadigitalvolumecontroltoan18-bitover-sampling,multi-bit,sigma-deltaDAC.Thedecod-
ingiscontrolledviaaserialcontrolbus.Inaddi-tiontothe basicdecoding,it is possibletoadd applicationspeci cfeatures,like DSP effects,to the user RAMmemory.
