The MAX13184E is designed as one kind of +5.0V, ±15kV ESD-protected, half-duplex / full-duplex, RS-485 transceiver that can be used in (1)industrial control; (2)motor drive control; (3)telecom; (4)security system; (5)instrumentation applications. This device has a 1/8 unit-load input receiver that allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus, and is available in industry-standard 14-pin SO packages.

Features of the MAX13184E are:(1)available in tiny, 10-pin, 2mm x 2mm, uDFN and 14-pin SO packages; (2)+5.0V operation; (3)extended ESD protection: +/-15kV human body model and +/-12kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap disharge, and +/-6kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact disharge; (4)2.5 uA (typ) low-current shutdown mode; (5)1/8-unit load allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus.
