General Description
1N6173A General Description
The 1N6173A can be described as followings. The 1N61xx series of transient voltage suppressors are designed to protect military and commercial electronic equipment from overvoltages caused by lightning, ESD, EFT, inductive load switching, and EMP. These devices are constructed using two p-n junction TVS diodes in a back-toback configuration, hermetically sealed in a voidless glass package. The hermetically sealed package provides high reliability in harsh environmental conditions. TVS diodes are further characterized by their high surge capability, low operating and clamping voltages, and a theoretically instantaneous response time. This makes them ideal for use as board level protection for sensitive semiconductor components.
The followings are the features. The number of features is six. The first feature of it is 1500 watts peak pulse power (tp = 10/1000s). The second feature of it is voidless hermetically sealed glass package. The third feature of it is metallurgically bonded. The fourth is high surge capacity. The fifth feature of it is military & Industrial applications. The sixth feature of it is available in JAN, JTX, and JTXV versions per MIL-S-19500/516.
The followings are the maximum ratings. The first maximum rating of it is peak pulse power (tp = 10 x 1000s), which is 1500 Watts. The second maximum rating of it is operating temperature, which is 65 to +175 °C. The third maximum rating of it is storage temperature, which is -65 to +175 °C. The fourth maximum rating of it is steady-state power dissipation@ TL = 75ºC (3/8"), which is 5 Watts.
