Description

The 8292 is designed as GPIB controller to function with the 8291 GPIB talker/listener to mplement the full IEEE standard 488 controller function, including transfer control protocol.

8292 has many features. The first one is complete IEEE standard 488 controller function. The second one is interface clear (IFC) sending capability allows seizure of bus control and/or initialization of the bus. The third one is responds to service requests (SRQ). The fourth one is sends remote enable (REN), allowing instruments to switch to remote control. The fifth one is complete implementation of transfer control protocol. The sixth one is synchronous control seizure prevents the destruction of any data transmission in progress. The seventh one is connects with the 8291 to from a complete IEEE standard 488 interface talker/listener/controller. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of 8292 have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its ambient temperature under bias which would be from 0°C to 70°C. The second one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -65°C to +150°C. The third one is about its voltage on any other pin with respect to ground which would be from 0.5V to +7V. The fourth one is about its power dissipation which would be 1.5W. The fifth one is about its total supply current which would be max 125mA. The sixth one is about its input high leakage current which would be max 100uA. The seventh one is about its input capacitance which would be max 10pF. The eighth one is about its I/O capacitance which would be 20pF. It should be noted that stressing the 8292 beyond the "absolute maximum ratings" may cause permanent damage.
