Description

PC SPECIAL PURPOSE
The ICS960006 is the single chip clock solution forDesktop/Notebook designs using the SIS style chipset. Itprovides all necessary clock signals for such a system.Spread spectrum may be enabled through I2C programming.Spread spectrum typically reduces system EMI by 8dB to10dB. This simplifies EMI qualification without resorting toboard design iterations or costly shielding. The ICS960006employs a proprietary closed loop design, which tightlycontrols the percentage of spreading over process andtemperature variations.Serial programming I2C interface allows changing functions,stop clock programming and frequency selection. TheSD_SEL latched input of ICS96000 allows the SDRAM frequency tofollow the CPUCLK frequency(SD_SEL=1) or other clockfrequencies (SD_SEL=0)
