The ADS7842E is designed as a complete, 4-channel, 12-bit analogto-digitial converter (ADC). It contains a 12-bit, capacitor-based, SAR A/D with a sample-and-hold amplifier, interface for microprocessor use and parallel, three-state output drivers.
ADS7842E has nine features. (1)Single supply 2.7V to 5V. (2)4-channel input multiplexer. (3)Up to 200kHz sampling rate. (4)Full 12-bit parallel interface. (5)+/-1LSB INL and DNL. (6)Guaranteed no missing codes. (7)72dB sinad. (8)Low power 2mW. (9)28-lead SSOP package. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of ADS7842E have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its +Vcc to GND would be from -0.3V to +6V. (2)Its analog inputs to GND would be from -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (3)Its digital inputs to GND would be from -0.3V to +6V. (4)Its power dissipation would be 250mW. (5)Its maximum junction temperature would be 150°C. (6)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (8)Its lead temperature (soldering 10s) would be +300°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
