The ADUM1201ARZ is one member of the ADuM1201 series. The ADuM120x are dual-channel digital isolators based on analog devices' icoupler(R) technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives such as optocoupler devices. By avoiding the use of LEDs and photodiodes, iCoupler devices remove the design difficulties commonly associated with optocouplers.
Features of the ADUM1201ARZ are:(1)bidirectional communication ; (2)3 V/5 V level translation ; (3)high temperature operation: 105°C ; (4)high data rate: dc to 25 Mbps (NRZ) ; (5)high common-mode transient immunity: >25 kV/s.The ADuM120x isolators provide two independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates (see the Ordering Guide). Both parts operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling a voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier.
The absolute maximum ratings of the ADUM1201ARZ can be summarized as:(1)supply voltage:0.5V to +7.0V ;(2)storage temperature:-55 to +150;(3)ambient operating temperature range:-40 to +105.tresses above those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. This is a stress rating only; functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions above those listed in the operational sections of this specification is not implied.Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions may affect device reliability. The ADuM120x are extremely immune to external magnetic fields. The limitation on the ADuM120x's magnetic field immunity is set by the condition in which induced voltage in the transformer's receiving coil is sufficiently large to either falsely set or reset the decoder. The following analysis defines the conditions under which this may occur. The 3 V operating condition of the ADuM120x is examined because it represents the most susceptible mode of operation.
