ARA2008

The ARA2008 is designed to provide the reverse path amlification and output level control functions in a cable TV set top box or cable modem.It incorporates a digitally controlled preciosion step attenuator, which is preceded by an ultra low noise amplifier stage and followed by an ultra-linear output driver amplifier.It uses a balanced circuit design that exceeds the MCNS/DOCSIS requirement for harmonic performance at a 60 dBmV output level while requiring only a single 5 V supply. Both the input and output of the device are matched to 75 ohms with an appropriate transfomer. The precision attenuator provides up to 58 dB of attenuation in 4 dB increments, programmable via a four-bit digital control interface.

It has many unique features: The first one is low cost integrated monolithic GaAs amplifier with step attenuator. The second one is 5 V operaiton. The third one is low distortion and low noise,etc.There are some electrical characteristics about it.Analog supply(pins 2,4,11,20,23) is 0 VDC min and 9 VDC max. RF power at inputs(pins6,9) is 60 dBmV max. Storage temperature is -55 min and 200 max.Soldering temperature is 260. Soldering time is 5 sec max.
