The AT29C256-70 is designed as 5V-only in-system programmable and erasable read only memory (PEROM). Its 256K of memory is organized as 32,768 words by 8bits. Manufactured with Atmel's advanced nonvolatile CMOS's technology, the device offers access times to 70ns with power dissipation of just 440mW.
It has many features. (1)Fast read access time 70ns. (2)Five volt only reprogramming. (3)Page program operation single sysle reprogram (erase and program) and internal address and data latches for 64bytes. (4)Fast program cycle times which would be 10ms. (5)Internal program control timer. (6)Low power dissipation which means 50mA active current and 300uA CMOS standby current. (7)Hardware and software data protection. (8)Typical endurance > 10000 cycles. (9)CMOS and TTL complatible inputs and outputs. And so on.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its temperature under bias would be from -55°C and max 125°C. (2)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (3)Its all input voltages (including NC pins) with respect to ground would be from -0.6V to 6.25V. (4)Its all output voltages with respect to ground would be from -0.6V to Vcc+0.6V. (5)Its voltage on OE with respect to ground would be from -0.6V to 13.5V.
