The BCM70010 introduces the advantages of next-generation standard and high-definition H.264, VC-1, and MPEG-2 video compression algorithms to PCs and x86 based embedded applications. Some applications include the playback of Blu-ray disks, fanless embedded set-top HD playback, and IPTV or other broadcast applications.

The BCM70010 is a single-stream HD AVC/VC-1/MPEG-2 decoder chip capable of full HD real-time decoding. The high performance and low power consumption of the BCM70010 enable reduced CPU utilization and support for mobile and fanless platform designs.

The BCM70010 supports any compliant resolution from QCIF up to 1920x1080. The BCM70010 can be used in onboard system designs or module form factors such as a mini-PCI module.
