The FAN1112 is a 1.2V low dropout three-terminalregulator with 1A output current capability. The device hasbeen optimized for low voltage where transient response andminimum input voltage are critical.
Current limit is trimmed to ensure specified output currentand controlled short-circuit current. On-chip thermal limitingprovides protection against any combination of overload andambient temperatures that would create excessive junctiontemperatures.
Unlike PNP type regulators where up to 10% of the outputcurrent is wasted as quiescent current, the quiescent currentof the FAN1112 fows into the load, increasing efficiency.The FAN1112 regulator is available in the industry-standardSOT-223 and TO-252 (DPAK) power packages.
