The FT1513 is designed as one kind of SDI transformer device that is small signal, wide band transformer with a 1:1 turns ratio tested to provide 1 kV isolation between primary and secondary windings whilst still passing SDI video signals with minimal effect on equaliser supported cable length. Lightning protection of FT1513 is included by recommended use of appropriate surge arrestor.

The electrical characteristics of the FT1513 can be summarized as:(1)Equivalent Cable Length: ~ 75 metres of Belden 8281;(2)Isolation: Flash tested to 1kV;(3)Lightning protection: RS 191-1541 surge arrestor;(4)Package: DR00311A;(5)Impedance: 75 ohms.
