The ICL7115KMDL is designed as one kind of monolithic 14-bit resolution, fast sucessive approximation A / D converter. This device uses thin film resistors and CMOS circuitry combined with an on-chip PROM calibration table to achieve 13-bit linearity without laser trimming. Special design techniques used in the DAC and comparator result in high speed operation, while the fully static silicon-gate CMOS circuitry keeps the power dissipation very low.

Features of the ICL7115KMDL are:(1)14-bit resolution;(2)no missing codes;(3)microprocessor compatible byte-organized buffered outputs;(4)fast conversion (40 us);(5)auto-zeroed comparator for low offset voltage;(6)low linearity and gain tempco;(7)low power consumption (60 mW);(8)no gain or offset adjustment necessary;(9)provides 3 % useable overrange.

The absolute maximum ratings of the ICL7115KMDL can be summarized as:(1)supply voltage V+ to DGND: -0.3 V to +6.5 V;(2)supply voltage V- to DGND: +0.3 V to -6.5 V;(3)lead temperature (soldering, 10 sec): 300 ;(4)power dissipation derate above 70 @ 100 mW/: 500 mW;(5)storage temperature range: -65 to +150 ;(6)PROG to DGND voltage: V- to V+ +0.3 V.
