ICL8038CCPD

The ICL8038CCPD is designed as a monolithic integrated circuit capable of producing high accuracy sine, square, triangular, sawtooth and pulse waveforms with a minimum of external components. The frequency (or repetition rate) can be selected externally from 0.001Hz to more than 300kHz using either resistors or capacitors, and frequency modulation and sweeping can be accomplished with an external voltage.

It has eight features. (1)Low frequency drift with temperature which would be 250ppm/°C. (2)Low distortion 1% (sine wave output). (3)High linearity 0.1% (triangle wave output). (4)Wide frequency range 0.001Hz to 300kHz. (5)Variable duty cycle 2% to 98%. (6)High level outputs TTL to 28V. (7)Simultaneous sine, square, and triangle wave outputs. (8)Easy to use: just a handful of external components required. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage (V- to V+) would be 36V. (2)Its input voltage any pin would be V- to V+. (3)Its input current pins 4 and 5 would be 25mA. (4)Its output sink current pins 3 and 9 would be 25mA. (5)Its junction temperature range would be 175°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (7)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 300°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics are concluded as follow. (1)Its supply voltage operating range would be min +10V and max +30V for single supply and would be min +/-5V and max +/-15V for dual supplies. (2)Its supply current would be typ 12mA and max 20mA. (3)its max frequency of oscillation would be min 100kHz. (4)Its sweep frequency of FM input would be typ 10kHz. And so on.
