The Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) product family KA5Q0740RT is specially esigned for an off-line SMPS with minimal external omponents. The Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) KA5Q0740RT consists of a igh voltage power SenseFET and a current mode PWM IC.

The integrated PWM controller KA5Q0740RT includes the fixed oscillator, he under voltage lock out, the leading edge blanking, the ptimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver, the thermal shut down rotection, the over voltage protection, and the temperature ompensated precision current sources for loop compensation nd fault protection circuitry. Compared to a discrete OSFET and a controller or a RCC switching converter olutions, a Fairchild Power Switch(FPS) KA5Q0740RT can reduce the total umber of components, design size, and weight, so it will mprove efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. KA5Q0740RT has  basic platform well suited for cost-effective design in a uasi-resonant converter as a C-TV power supply.
