The LM2585T-ADJ is designed as one member of the LM2585 series of regulators which is monolithic integrated circuits specifically designed for flyback, step-up (boost), and forward converter applications. The device is available in 4 differential output voltage versions 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V and adjustable.
LM2585T-ADJ has nine features. (1)Requires few external components. (2)Family of standard inductors and transformers. (3)NPN output switches 3.0A, can stand off 65V. (4)Wide input voltage range: 4V to 40V. (5)Current-mode operation for improved transient response, line regulation, and current limit. (6)100kHz switching frequency. (7)Internal soft-start function reduces in-rush current during start-up. (8)Output transistor protected by current limit, under voltage lockout, and thermal shutdown. (9)System output voltage tolerance of ±4% max over line and load conditions. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of LM2585T-ADJ have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its input voltage would be from -0.4V to 45V. (2)Its switch voltage would be from -0.4V to 65V. (3)Its switch current would be internally limited. (4)Its compensation pin voltage would be from -0.4V to 2.4V. (5)Its feedback pin voltage would be from -0.4V to 2Vout. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (7)Its lead temperature range (soldering 10 seconds) would be 260°C. (8)Its maximum junction temperature would be 150°C. (9)Its power dissipation would be internally limited. (10)Its minimum ESD rating would be 2kV. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
