LM2596T-5.0

The LM2596T-5.0 is one member of the LM2594 family which is designed as the SIMPLE SWITCHER® power converter 150 kHz 3A step-down voltage regulator. This device can be used in (1)simple high-efficiency step-down (buck) regulator; (2)efficient pre-regulator for linear regulators; (3)on-card switch-ing regulators; (4)positive to negative convertor. And also it operates at a switching frequency of 150 kHz thus allowing smaller sized filter components than what would be needed with lower frequency switching regulators.

Features of the LM2596T-5.0 are:(1)3.3V, 5V, 12V, and adjustable output versions; (2)adjustable version output voltage range, 1.2V to 37V (57V for the HV version)±4% max over line and load conditions; (3)available in 8-pin surface mount and DIP-8 package; (4)guaranteed 0.5A output current; (5)input voltage range up to 40V; (6)requires only 4 external components; (7)150 kHz fixed frequency internal oscillator; (8)TTL Shutdown capability; (9)low power standby mode, IQ typically 80 A; (10)high efficiency ; (11)uses readily available standard inductors; (12)thermal shutdown and current limit protection.
