The LM2937IMP-2.5 is designed as a positive voltage regulator capable of supplying up to 500mA of load current. Both regulators are ideal for converting a common 5V logic supply, or higher input supply voltage, to the lower 2.5V and 3.3V supplies to power VLSI ASIC's and microcontrollers. Special circuitry has been incorporated to minimize the quiescent current to typically only 10mA with a full 500mA load current when the input to output voltage differential is greater than 5V.
LM2937IMP-2.5 has eight features. (1)Fully specified for operation over -40°C to 125°C. (2)Output current in excess of 500mA (400mA for SOT-223 package). (3)Output trimmed for 5% tolerance under all operating conditions. (4)Wide output capacitor ESR range, 0.01ohms up to 5ohms. (5)Internal short circuit and thermal overload protection. (6)Reverse battery protection. (7)60V input transient protection. (8)Mirror image insertion protection. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of LM2937IMP-2.5 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its input voltage would be 26V for continuous and would be 60V for transient (t<=100ms). (2)Its internal power dissipation would be internally limited. (3)Its maximum junction temperature would be 150°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (5)Its lead temperature soldering would be 220°C. (6)Its ESD susceptibility would be 2KV. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of LM2937IMP-2.5 are concluded as follow. (1)Its output voltage would be typ 2.5V and max 2.62V. (2)Its line regulation would be typ 7.5mV and max 25mV.
