The MAX1645EEI is one member of the MAX1645 family which is designed as the advanced chemistry-independent, level 2 battery charger with input current limiting that can be used in (1)notebook computers; (2)point-of-sale terminals; (3)personal digital assistants. This device employs a next-generation synchronous buck control circuitry that lowers the minimum input-tooutput voltage drop by allowing the duty cycle to exceed 99%.
Features of the MAX1645EEI are:(1)input current limiting; (2)175sec charge safety timeout; (3)128mA wake-up charge; (4)charges any chemistry battery: Li+, NiCd, NiMH, Lead Acid, etc.; (5)Intel SMBus 2-wire serial interface; (6)compliant with level 2 smart battery charger spec.
