The MAX3080ECSD is one member of the MAX3080 family which designed as one kind of electrostatic discharge (ESD)-protected,high-speed transceivers for RS-485/RS-422 communication that contain one driver and one receiver.These devices feature fail-safe circuitry,which guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted.Also it can be used in RS-422/RS-485 communications,level translators,transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications and industrial-control local area networks.

Features of the MAX3080ECSD are:(1)ESD protection for RS-485 I/O pins ±15kV,human body model;(2)true fail-safe receiver while maintaining EIA/TIA-485 compatibility;(3)enhanced slew-rate limiting facilitates error-free data transmission;(4)allow up to 256 transceivers on the bus.
