The MAX3082CSA is designed as one kind of fail-safe, high-speed (10 Mbps), slew-rate-limited RS-485/RS-422 transceiver device that features fail-safe circuitry, which guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. And this device can be used in (1)RS-422/RS-485 communications; (2)level translators; (3)transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications; (4)industrial-control local area networks applications.

Features of the MAX3082CSA are:(1)allow up to 256 transceivers on the bus; (2)true fail-safe receiver while maintaining EIA / TIA-485 compatibility.
