The MAX3085EESA is designed as one kind of ±15kVESD-protected,fail-safe,high-speed (10Mbps), slew-rate-limited RS-485/RS-422 transceiver that can be used in (1)RS-422/RS-485 communications; (2)level translators; (3)transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications; (4)industrial-control local area networks. This device has a 1/8-unit-load receiver input impedance that allows up to 256 transceivers on the bus, and the slew rate of it is selectable between 115kbps, 500kbps, and 10Mbps by driving a selector pin with a single three-state driver.
