The MAX483ESA is a type of low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communications in harsh environments. Is driver output and receiver input is protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks, without latchup. These parts contain one driver and one receiver. The MAX483ESA features reduced slewrate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce influence caused by improperly terminated cables, thus acceptinhg error-free data transmission up to 250kbps. The driver slew rate of the MAX483ESA is not limited, allowing them to transmit reach 2.5Mbps. The tran sceiver draw as little as 120A supply current when unloaded or while fully loaded with disabled drivers.What's mor e, the MAX483ESA has a low-current shutdown mode in which they consume only 0.5A. All parts operate from a sin gle +5V supply.
