The MAX5544CSA is one member of the MAX5544 family which is designed as the low-cost, +5V, serial-input, voltage-output, 14-bit DAC that can be used in (1)high-resolution offset and gain adjustment; (2)industrial process control; (3)automated test equipment; (4)data acquisition systems. The DAC output of this device is unbuffered, resulting in low 0.3mA supply current and low 1LSB offset error. And the DAC latch accepts a 16-bit serial word. A power-on reset circuit clears the DAC output to 0V (unipolar mode) when power is initially applied.

Features of the MAX5544CSA are:(1)full 14-bit performance without adjustments; (2)+5V single-supply operation; (3)low power: 1.5mW; (4)1s settling time; (5)unbuffered voltage output directly drives 60k loads; (6)SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible serial interface; (7)power-on reset circuit clears DAC output to 0V (unipolar mode); (8)schmitt trigger inputs for direct optocoupler interface.

The absolute maximum ratings of the MAX5544CSA can be summarized as:(1)VDD to DGND:-0.3V to +6V;(2)CS, SCLK, DIN to DGND:-0.3V to +6V;(3)REF to AGND:-0.3V to (VDD +0.3V);(4)AGND to DGND:-0.3V to +0.3V;(5)OUT to AGND, DGND:-0.3V to VDD;(6)maximum current into any pin:50 mA;(7)continuous power dissipation (TA = +70°C) 8-Pin SO (derate 5.88mW/°C above +70°C):471 mW;(8)operating temperature ranges:0°C to +70°C;(9)junction temperature:+150°C;(10)storage temperature range:-65°C to +150°C;(11)lead temperature (soldering, 10s):+300°C.
