MC33232

The MC33232 is designed as the monolithic integrated circuit using the SMARTMOS process as the new technology. And it is active power factor controller specially design for use as off-line power converter application.

It has eleven features. (1)One shot-trigger circuit to eliminate a problem at the light loading. (2)Overvoltage comparator eliminates runaway output voltage. (3)Quickstart circuit for enhanced startup. (4)Internal startup timer. (5)One quadrant multiplier. (6)Zero current detector. (7)Trimmed 2% internal bandgap reference. (8)Totem pole output with high state clamp. (9)Undervoltage lockout with 6.0V of hysteresis. (10)Low startup and operating current. (11)Pb-free packages are available. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its total power supply and zener current would be 30mA. (2)Its output current source or sink would be 750mA for peak and would be 300mA for DC. (3)Its current sense, multiplier and voltage feedback input would be from -0.3V to 10V. (4)Its zero current detect input high state forward current would be 50mA. (5)Its zero current detect input low state reverse current would be -10mA. (6)Its power dissipation would be 450mW. (7)Its operating junction temperature would be 150°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics are concluded as follow. (1)Its voltage feedback input threshold would be min 2.465V and typ 2.5V and max 2.535V. (2)Its line regulation would be typ 1.0mV and max 10mV. (3)Its input bias current would be typ -0.1uA and max -0.5uA. (4)Its transconductance would be typ 80u and typ 100u and max 130u.
