General Description
MC6801 General Description
The MC6801 is designed as one kind of 8-bit single-chip microcontroller init (MCU) which significantly enhances the capabilities of the MC6800 family of parts. It includes and upgraded M6800 microprocessor unit with upward-source and object-code compatibility. Exexution times of key instructions have been improved and several new instructions have been added including an unsigned multiply. This device can function as a monolithic microcontroller or can be expanded to a 64K byte address space.
Features of the MC6801 are:(1)enhance MC6800 instruction set;(2)8 x 8 multiply instruction;(3)serial communications interface (SCI);(4)upward source and object code compatibility with the M6800;(5)16-bit three-function programmable timer;(6)128 bytes of RAM;(7)64 bytes of RAM retainable during power-down; (8)2048 bytes of ROM;(9)-40 to +85 temperature range;(10)internal clock generator with divide-by-four output.
The absolute maximum ratings of the MC6801 can be summarized as:(1)supply voltage: -0.3 to +7.0 V;(2)input voltage: -0.3 to +7.0 V;(3)operating temperature range: 0 to 70;(4)storage temperature range: -55 to +150.
