MC74HC595AD

The MC74HC595AD is designed as 8-bit serial-input/serial or parallel-output shift register with latched 3-state outputs which would be high performance silicon gate CMOS.

It has eight features. (1)Output drive capability: 15 LSTTL loads. (2)Outputs directly interface to CMOS, NMOS, and TTL. (3)Operating voltage range would be from 2.0 to 6.0V. (4)Low input current: 1.0uA. (5)High noise immunity characteristic of CMOS devices. (6)In compliance with the requirements defined by JEDEC standard No. 7A. (7)Chip complexity: 328 FETs or 82 equivalent gates. (8)Improvements over HC595 which means improved propagation delays and 50% lower quiescent power and improved input noise and latchup immunity. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its DC supply voltage (reference to GND) would be from -0.5V to 7.0V. (2)Its DC input voltage (reference to GND) would be from -0.5V to Vcc+0.5V. (3)Its DC output voltage (reference to GND) would be from -0.5V to Vcc+0.5V. (4)Its DC input current per pin would be +/-20mA. (5)Its DC output current per pin would be +/-35V. (6)Its DC supply current, Vcc and GND pins would be +/-75mA. (7)Its power dissipation would be 500mW. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (8)Its lead temperature would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some DC electrical characteristics at Vcc=6.0V are concluded as follow. (1)Its minimum high level input voltage would be 4.2V. (2)Its maximum low level input voltage would be 1.8V. (3)Its minimum high-level output voltage would be 5.9V. (4)Its maximum low level output voltage would be 0.1V. (5)Its maximum input leakage current would be +/-1.0uA. (6)Its maximum three-state leakage current would be +/-0.5uA. (7)Its maximum quiescent supply current would be 4.0uA. And so on.
