ML4802CS

The ML4802CS is one member of the ML4802 family which is designed as the PFC/PWM controller for power factor corrected, switched mode power supplies that offers Green Mode operation and reduced start-up and operating currents. This ML4802CS offers the use of lower cost bulk capacitors, reduces power line loading and stress on the switching FETs. And ML4802CS includes circuits for the implementation of a leading edge, average current, "boost" type power factor corrector and a trailing edge Pulse Width Modulator (PWM).

Features of the ML4802CS are:(1)Internally synchronized PFC and PWM in one IC;(2)Green Mode maximizes efficiency during low power standby operation;(3)Low supply current (Start-up 200A typ., operating 5.5mA typ.);(4)Average current continuous boost leading edge PFC;(5)High efficiency trailing edge PWM can be configured for current mode operation;(6)Reduced ripple current in the storage capacitor between the PFC and PWM sections;(7)PFC overvoltage comparator eliminates output "runaway" due to load removal;(8)Current fed gain modulator for improved noise immunity;(9)Overvoltage protection, UVLO, and soft start.
