The MOC3021 is a type of optically isolated triac driver devices which contain a GaAs infrared emitting diode and a light activated silicon bilateral switch, which functions like a triac. MOC3021 is designed for interfacing between electronic controls and power triacs to control resistive and inductive loads for 115 VAC operations and it can be applied to industrial controls,solenoid/valve controls,traffic lights,static AC power switch,vending machines,etc.

MOC3021 has many unique features: (1) excellent IFT stability-IR emitting diode has low degradation; (2) high isolation voltage-minimum 5300 VAC RMS; (3) underwriters Laboratory (UL) recognized; (4) peak blocking voltage; (5) VDE recognized.

There are some absolute maximum ratings about MOC3021. (1): storage temperature(TSTG) is -40°C to +150°C; (2): operating temperature(TOPR) is -40°C to +85°C; (3): lead solder temperature(TSOL) is 260°C for 10 sec °C; (4): junction Ttemperature range(TJ)is -40°C to +100 °C.The MOC301XM and MOC302XM series are optically isolated triac driver devices.
