The MSM6240 is a CMOS si-gate LSI to control large size dot matrix LCD in characters and graphics. This LSI consists of two 20-bit shift registers, two 20-bit latches,a 40-bit level shifter and a 40-bit 4-level driver. The feature of MSM6240 are as follows: (1)number of characters: 32, 40, 64 and 80/line; (2)number of lines: 4*2, 6*2, 8*2 and 16*2; (3)font composition(vertical): 8, 12, 18 and 20; (4)font composition(horizontal): 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16; (5)address: straight binary; (6)attribute: display inversion, display blank, cursor display, character blink, cursor blink; (7)applicable LCD duty: 1/32, 1/48, 1/64, 1/72, 1/80, 1/96, 1/108, 1/128, 1/144; (8)low power CMOS silicon gate technology; (9)single +5V power supply; (10)60 pin plastic QFP.
The absolute maximum ratings of the MSM6240 are: (1)power supply voltage: -3.0 to 6.0V; (2)input voltage: -0.3V to VDD; (3)storage temperature: -50 to 150.
