The NSC858D is a CMOS programmable universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter(UART).It has an on chip programmable baud rate generator.The UART,which is fabricated using microCMOS silicon gate technology,functions as a serial receiver/transmitter interface for your microcomputer system.
