      As an Electro-Absorption (EA) modulator and wavelength monitor integrated,1 550 nm Multiple Quantum Well (MQW) structured Distributed Feed-Back (DFB) laser diode module,NEC's NX8567SA Series realize a wide range of applications.Based on ITU-T recommendations,the module is capable of 2.5 Gb/s applications of over 240 km, 360 km, 600 km ultralong-reach and available for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) wavelengths.

      The NEC's NX8567SA Series has its own characteristics.It's a integrated electroabsorption modulator and has the function of wavelength monitor.The figures as follows show its very low disperson penalty:NX8567SAS Series - over 240 km (4320 ps/nm),NX8567SAM Series - over 360 km (6480 ps/nm),NX8567SA Series - over 600 km (10800 ps/nm). NEC's NX8567SA Series also makes a feature of its low modulation voltage ,in addition, this series is available for DWDM wavelenght which is based on ITU-T RECOMMENDATION (50 GHz grid, refer to ordering information).

      The NEC's NX8567SA Series has some important  parameters, whose symbol and absolute maximum ratings are as follows: the Optical Output Power from Fiber Pf is 10 mW, the  Forward Current of LD IFLD is 150 mA, the Reverse Voltage of LD VRLD is 2.0V, the Forward Voltage of Modulator VFm is 1V, the Reverse Voltage of Modulator VRm is 5V, the Forward Current of PD IFPD is 1mA, the Reverse Voltage of PD VRPD is 10V, the Cooler Current IC is 1.5A, the Cooler Voltage VC is 2.5V, the Operating Case Temperature TC is from -5°C to +70°C, the Storage Temperature TSTG is between -40°C and +85°C, and the Lead Soldering Temp . (3 s) TSLD is 350°C.
