P2821

The P2821 is designed as one kind of powerline carrier isolation transformers which is specifically designed to provide signal coupling with safety for powerline carrier applications over four bands from 40kHz to 148.5kHz. Typically, the P2821 are driven from lowimpedance sources and are connected to the mains network using capacitors whose values are chosen to resonate with the transformer leakage inductance.

P2821 has eight features. (1)Lead-free (Pb-free). (2)RoHS compliant. (3)Reinforced insulation. (3)14.6mm seated height. (4)Vacuum encapsulated. (5)Low distortion. (6)IEC 60950 and UL 60950 certified. (7)UL recognized component. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of P2821 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its short term isolation voltage 1s would be 4.6kVrms and 6.5kVdc. (2)Its coil temperature continuous would be 155°C. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (4)Its lead temperature 10s would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of P2821 are concluded as follow. (1)Its series resistance would be min 0.2ohms and typ 0.27ohms at 40kHz and would be typ 0.38ohms and max 0.7ohms at 90kHz and would be min 0.2ohms and max 0.7ohms at 40 to 90kHz. (2)Its saturation current would be min 120mA and typ 150mA. (3)Its thermal resistance would be typ 50°C/W to 70°C/W. (4)Its truns ratio, N would be min 1.65 and typ 1.68 and max 1.71. (5)Its voltage would be min 4.0kVrms at 50Hz. (6)Its isolation would be min 5.5kv at DC. (7)Its operating functional temperature range would be from -25°C to +85°C. And so on.
